Efforts to Comply with the RoHS Directive

Omron is an environmentally conscious company. For that reason, and in order to satisfy the requirements of our customers, we undertake all efforts to ensure compliance of our wide range of industrial components with the RoHS Directive. However, already since early 2006, even before the first version of RoHS came into force, all our main product lines and newly developed products have been manufactured compliant to RoHS.

RoHS Directive

RoHS refers to Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (recast).

This directive prohibits sales of any new electrical and electronic equipment in scope of the Directive, containing more than the allowable levels of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB (polybrominated biphenyl), or PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ether).

Objectives

The purpose of this Directive is to approximate the laws of the Member States on the restrictions of the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and to contribute to the protection of human health and the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
