OMRON mobile robots are autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) designed to dramatically increase productivity in manufacturing and logistics operations. Self-navigating Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR)

The Omron LD Mobile Robot is a self-navigating Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) designed for dynamically moving material in challenging environments that may include confined passageways as well as dynamic and peopled locations.
Unlike traditional autonomously guided vehicles (AGVs), Omron Mobile Robot requires no facility modifications, such as floor magnets or navigational beacons, saving users deployment costs.

Robust Navigation

If the operating environment changes dramatically (in warehouses and busy factories where objects such as pallets and carts frequently change locations), Acuity provides an additional method of “localization” to the on-board laser. It identifies overhead lights and overlays the “light map” with the “floor map”. It also allows mobile robots to move easily across wide-open areas in large warehouses.

Safety

Our mobile robots are safety rated. They use on-board lasers and other sensors to detect obstacles on their moving path and, based on speed of travel, they trigger E-stop to prevent vehicle collision into objects on their path.

Cell Alignment Positioning System (CAPS)

CAPS technology utilizes any compatible laser to detect a customizable target in the environment and enables the AMR to drive to the required location with unrivalled precision.

  • OMRON’s mobile robots can dock to a machine or cart with high accuracy. 
  • It can also approach from any angle so that you do not need to worry about floor layout or shape of the payload.
  • CAPS aligns OMRON’s AMRs with machinery and carts at up to +-8mm and +-0.5degree repeatability for individual robots and +-12mm fleet-wide.
  • Enables a smoother and quicker loading & unloading of material, contributing to a shorter cycle time.
  • CAPS provides application flexibility by enabling customizable laser and target selection.

High Accuracy Positioning System (HAPS)
HAPS allows our mobile robots to move along fixed paths in applications that require tight tolerances.
  • HAPS aligns our mobile robots with machinery at ±10mm position accuracy and ±0,5° rotation accuracy.
  • It ensures that the robot will follow a fixed path, even backwards and with angles.

Mobile IO Box

Easily call a mobile robot with the push of a button.

The OMRON Mobile I/O Box is an I/O device that can be used to summon an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) to a designated location by just pressing a button. It can also be used as an External Digital I/O for the control of hard-wired devices that are associated with AMR related actions like opening a door for an AMR to pass through or turning on a signal to tell the AMR has arrived.

  • Quick and easy to set up AMR applications in factories and warehouses.

Models

LD-60, LD-90, and LD-90x platforms

Our OEM mobile platform is available to developers for custom applications and payloads. It includes our proprietary self-navigation software, which is ideal for use in crowded environments, tight hallways, and applications where a compact automated vehicle is advantageous. Our OEM partners and payload developers enjoy access to a reliable drive system, an on-board power supply, automated self-charging, and I/O for integrating payload hardware onto the mobile platform.

Our OEM mobile platform is available in three configurations, both with a runtime of up to 19 hours a day:

  • LD60 capable of transporting up to 60kg (max speed 1.8 m/s)
  • LD90 capable of transporting up to 90kg (max speed 1.35)
  • LD-90x, use it in a Cart Transporter configuration to increase maximum payload up to 170 kg (max. speed 0.9 m.s)

LD-250 platform

LD platform with payload capacity of 250 kg. The LD-250 is based on the same tested-and-proven technology used in the industry-leading LD-60/90. It allows customers to load larger and heavier payloads, making fewer trips with heavier batches, ultimately increasing return on investment. You can do more with less equipment. LD-250 can be upgraded to double its usual payload from 250 kg up to 500 kg by integrating into a Cart Transporter version.

The ESD robots are designed for complex production environments allowing you to expand your automated material handling applications while staying protected. Designed to provide protection for your Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS) products.

The ESD skins create a protective shield around the robot that not only protect your investment, but they also safely dissipate static energy to the ground. With the LD-series ESD mobile robots, we provide a safe solution for handling static sensitive components.

  • Joint protection for your “Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive (ESDS)” products and the LD-series.
  • Complies with IEC 61340-5-1 as static controlled surfaces with Rg < 1 x 10^9.
  • Protection for field strengths above approximately 40 kV/cm of air.
